In this weeks Famitsu they had an interview with Tetsuya Nomura, director of Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Kingdom Hearts.
Nomura did a walkthrough of the entire world map of Versus XIII the other day. He also checked the game’s dungeons and side areas in the towns. He was amazed at how wide and impressive everything was. Versus XIII uses parts of the Luminous Studio engine (Square-Enix’s next generation development engine), specifically the lighting technology. He notes that the game uses a game specific engine that’s utilized for action. The technology was implemented after the last batch of footage back in January.
Nomura also promises that Versus XIII will be a “Final Fantasy the likes of which they’ve never seen before.”
As far as Kingdom Hearts 3D goes, he commented saying the game is 60 to 70 percent complete and is due in Spring of 2012.
More details from this issue of Famitsu will be coming soon.
