The recently released New York Comic Con trailer for Final Fantasy XIII-2 has been released for Japan, and has been dubbed the “Final Trailer”. The trailer is the same as the English counterpart, with the only difference being separate PS3 and Xbox 360 trailers.
You can check out the trailers in Japanese here!
Awhile back, we reported that the sequel to 2010’s Final Fantasy XIII would be present at New York Comic Con, which takes place next week.
Square-Enix will be holding a panel to discuss the game’s art direction, which is entitled “East Meets West: Art Direction for a Worldwide Audience.” The panel will be hosted by the games art director Isamu Kamikokuryo, along with Jonathan Jacques-Belletête (art director on Dues Ex: Human Revolution). The event will take place Friday, October 14th from 10:45am until 11:45am, and will be moderated by N’Gai Croal of Newsweek fame.
The game will also have a demo playable on the floor, most likely the updated build present at both Tokyo Game Show and Eurogamer Expo.
The New York Comic Con page has released info on a Final Fantasy XIII-2 Panel Session to be held during the event, which takes place in October. The session is described as “East Meets West: Art Direction for a Worldwide Audience”.
The panel will consist of a guided presentation of FFXIII-2’s art direction, followed by a discussion with an Art Director working on a top-tier North American RPG. The panel will close with the reveal of a collaborative art project.
New York Comic Con will take place from October 13-16, 2011, with this session to take place on October 14th from 10:45am until 11:45am.
With Comic-Con fast approaching, it’s around the time that exhibitors start making some small announcements for the show. Well, Square-Enix is no exception. They have already confirmed their presence at the event, which will take place from July 21-24 in San Diego, California. While they haven’t made full announcements regarding the event, they have let loose with some information!
- They will have Play Arts for sale at their booth (along with manga and music).
- They will have a game demo station, featuring playable demos from most of their E3 line-up: Dues Ex, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Dead Island, and Wakfu (Dungeon Siege 3 will not be present)
It is not yet know if these will be the same exact demo’s that were present at E3 or if they will be new builds. Stay tuned for more details as Comic Con 2011 grows even closer!
July 21, 2010 has come and gone now for most of the world, but yesterday was definitely full of many announcements in regards to Square-Enix.
Final Fantasy XIII has been possibly announced for the Xbox360 for Japan, though if this is a good thing or not is still up in the air. Late ports have a tendency to not do so well, on top of that I believe 360 isn’t quite as popular in Japan. The Japanese XBox 360 site received a list of FFXIII achievements to suggest this late port.
Square-Enix NA will be receiving a new CEO. We will see what comes of this as well.
Final Fantasy XIII Piano Collections was released yesterday on PlayAsia, YesAsia, and iTunes. Featuring 10 tracks from Square-Enix’s latest Final Fantasy game, the Collection is definitely a “must-have” for any FFXIII Fan. It is priced at $9.90. Sheet Music will be available on August 20, 2010.
Final Fantasy Legends was announced for Japanese Mobile Phone under the title “Final Fantasy Legends: Warriors of Light and Darkness” (Translated titled). As of now, this game remains Japan exclusive, and is being produced by the FFIV The After Years team. It may eventually get the “The After Years” treatment and see an iPhone or WiiWare release for other countries.
Another Square-Enix game remake has been announced as well, Super Nintendo’s Tactics Ogre. It will be released for the PSP under the name “Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together” and is being developed by the original staff (Other games include: Final Fantasy XII, Final Fantasy Tactics, Vagrant Story).
If you are at Comic Con this week, be sure to visit Square-Enix’s booth, and possibly go hunt down some Final Fantasy XIII Voice Actors! Both Georgia Van Cuylenburg (Vanille) and Rachel Robinson (Fang) hinted via Facebook that they will be at Comic Con!
