Final Fantasy XIV Dated with Boxart!

Well, the PC version at least. The PS3 version is still sitting with an unknown release date, possibly in March of next year. Guess Square-Enix forgot what “Simultaneous” means huh?

Along with a PC release date, Square-Enix announced a Collectors Edition. To myself, this pack isn’t really… Appealing. Possibly is for others. The pack includes:

  • Early Access code! (8 days prior to standard edition)
  • FFXIV Game Disc, Behind the scenes DVD, Buddy Pass Insert
  • "Right of Passage" voucher, In Game Item, Branded Security Token, and Travel Journal
  • Delivered by mail-Personalized and numbered "Right of passage" document

Look for Final Fantasy XIV PC to hit store shelves September 30, 2010, with the Collectors Edition to hit shelves the 22nd. Now, the fact this is a Thursday boggles me, but we’ll see… (In regards to the normal version)

FFXI: Bring on the Job Adjustments!

Well it’s true, no level cap raise isn’t complete without job adjustments. Not only is Square-Enix giving us new goodies on the way to 80, but they are going back and even giving new lower level traits! I have no words for this list, so I shall simply copy it over from the Playonline Site… Happy Update Day people!

New FFXIV Video – E3 2010 Live Report

Square-Enix has uploaded a new video, though not the trailer. For the full trailer, visit the official site, link is below.

They feature the update from Alpha to Beta – And they look good! Without NDA breaking, I can tell you this; They have changed the action gage so that you no longer have to wait for it for the most powerful attack. This will make battle more seamless.

Oh, and meet FFXIV’s crabs! It’s actually a crab! ^_^ Beta’s looking great, hopefully they give us a Beta date for PC/PS3 soon! Soon as they do, I’ll be sure to let you know!.

Sony’s Conference Wraps Up: Square-Enix… Gets little airtime

Well for those who were watching the conference, you’ll have seen it. Square-Enix got very little airtime in comparison to other companies. Let’s take a look at this here…

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep

The game got a small mention and gameplay clip during the PSP segment. Not much shown at all.

The 3rd Birthday

Same as Birth by Sleep, mention during PSP segment, with a little gameplay. Otherwise, not much at all.

Final Fantasy XIV

The game got more mention than the previous two… With a roughly 1 minute trailer. That pretty much showed off Nobuo’s music, and some in-game cutscenes. It did confirm the presence of Moogles within FFXIV though!

Also released during the conference, the FFXIV Benchmark. Enjoy the opening scenes of traveling to Limsa Lominsa for the first time as it stress tests your PC. Or in my case, as it proves you need a new computer just cause your sound card is horrible.

Benchmark, and another link to the trailer (Incase youtube one is taken down):

Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and Chocobo Racing all heading to 3DS

The Nintendo conference is over, and while I continue to catch up on what I missed (How could I have slept through this!), the probably biggest news for me of that conference came up. The 3DS will have the Final Fantasy Franchise.

e32010day20543rmengjs

Now, this brings up my question: Does this mean the FFV and FFVI remakes are coming? Does this mean FFV and FFVI 3DS? If so, bring it on. Confirmed already for the console are Kingdom Hearts 3D, and Codename: Chocobo Racing 3D.

With Sony’s conference still to come, Day 1 E3 just massively overshadowed Pre-Show E3.

FFXI: The Walk of Echoes Beckons You!

Well folks, the announcement has finally been made… With part of it being a shock to me! Several parts in fact.

The new end-game area has been officially announced.

Walk of Echoes, following in true Wings of the Goddess fashion, will be a series of battlefields. Within each battlefield, you will find Campaign-esque monsters, without it being campaign. According to Square, monsters will be able to be attacked by anyone and everyone, and as such, loot will be available to all within that battlefield. Enemies will not be claimable as a result. As you conquer battlefields, more will become available with even greater foes.

Also in the footsteps of Campaign, said loot will be available only if your performance is deemed worthy (Sorry folks who DC a lot, sounds like this is Besieged/Campaign all over again! Looking at you Xbox 360…). As well as being based off how much you participated, you will receive further reward based on your current evaluation. Part of the rewards from Walk of Echoes will include all-new materials used in level 76 and above equipment.

All this is well and good, but how does one get in? Well..

  1. Must be level 70 or higher
  2. Must be past the Cait Sith Mission (Aka… Have access to Wings of the Goddess, and completed the first quest in nation storyline)

6 more days folks til the 6 years in the making update! Let’s hope the next few days provide us with a bit more insight, namely those job adjustments/updates!

Square-Enix to release new FFXIV trailer tomorrow

Thanks to the folks at RPGSite for the heads up via their twitter account, Square-Enix has announced they will be releasing a new FFXIV trailer tomorrow (Tuesday) at 10pm GMT… 3pm PST! That sticks it right after the Sony Press Conference… Looks like we’ve found Square-Enix’s game for Sony! Maybe they’ll give us a certain game as well…?

Looking Back: Square-Enix at E3 2009

Boy, what a year last year was… Well, at least for me it was. Last year featured the release of the first English (VA’d) trailer of FFXIII (Fact: Trailer was released one MONTH after FFXIII’s voice recording had even started!), the first official FFXIV trailer… Yeah.

Looking back…

Final Fantasy XIII E3 2009 Trailer

Our first introductions to English Lightning, Vanille, Snow, Sazh… And everyone else (Announced at the time). Short, but simple. I know I loved this trailer, even if half the lines were changed in the final release!

Final Fantasy XIV

Previously codenamed “Rapture” Final Fantasy XIV was shown in all its greatness during E3 under the official name. Look for FFXIV to make its appearance at this years E3 as well, this time with a better build!

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days

Dissidia: Final Fantasy
